Snaptrip says

Guests consistently praise Luke's House for its cosy, well-equipped accommodation in a tranquil and picturesque setting. The cottage's rural charm, proximity to scenic walks, and homely touches are frequently highlighted, with many visitors keen to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage is repeatedly described as very clean, with no negative comments on cleanliness, indicating high standards are maintained.

The location is celebrated for its quietness, stunning views, and proximity to local attractions and walks, although its remoteness may not suit everyone.

Comfort is well-regarded with mentions of a cosy atmosphere and comfortable bedrooms, though one comment about the bathrooms suggests there is room for minor improvements.

Facilities are generally praised as well-equipped, especially the kitchen, but there is a single mention of an overgrown garden and a wish for a larger dining table.

While guests appreciate the homely touches and welcome items, there is insufficient information to assess consistency or guarantee of such gestures, thus a score cannot be provided.

About this property

A traditional stone-built cottage sleeping 6 in 3 bedrooms, close to the popular village of Askrigg with its tea rooms, Dales pubs and local shop.

This stone built traditional Dales cottage sleeping up to six in three bedrooms is tucked away on a `no through' lane between the villages of Bainbridge and Askrigg.  The property dates back to 1604. Luke’s House is a well-equipped cottage and boasts character and charm at every turn with beamed ceilings, window seats, stained glass windows and a Inglenook fireplace featuring a solid fuel stove which is ideal to cosy up in front of after a busy day exploring the Yorkshire Dales.  The south facing garden is ideal for dining al fresco in the summer months and has uninterrupted views over the fields and the Dale beyond.  This would make an ideal property for families or groups of friends looking to holiday together in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Lovely quaint well equipped cottage in a fantastic location. Couldn’t fault it inside. The garden unfortunately really let the property down - it was completely overgrown, nothing like the pictures - the grass looked like it hadn’t been cut for well over a month and made the garden unusable as it was so long. Such a shame, but easily fixable with regular maintenance.

Historic old cottage next to operational farm, lovely cows as neigbour. Great views from garden on surrounding hills, visiting birds and deer. Perfect location for exploring the Dales and perfect hiking opportunities.

We really enjoyed the cottage. Bathrooms not amazing but function well enough. All bedrooms and beds very comfortable. We like to cook and the kitchen was very well equipped. Just wish the table was bit bigger to seat 6 more comfortably for family feast! Open fire was lovely! Really nice to have welcome of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. Toilet and kitchen rolls provided, as well as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and sachets for a wash in the machine. Very nice location for walks and places to visit.
