The cottage is probably nicer in real life than the photos - very clean and comfortable. The old doors and beams add a lot of character but make sure you pay attention to the 'mind your head' signs - we had a few bumps on the head going up the stairs! We had amazing weather so the immaculate lawn and outside space was brilliant and the views were stunning. We were extremely lucky to see the Northern Lights which made our stay very special and I'm sure the peaceful surrounds and lack of light pollution helped us take full advantage. The surrounding area is so beautiful - it felt a bit like the Cotswolds without paying the prices. Local village pub (The Royal Oak) is a short walk from the house and the staff were really welcoming. Great service and lovely food. The owner of Wilstone Cottage was super helpful and great at communicating including helping with recommending a walk etc. It was lovely to arrive to some flowers and cookies left by the owner as well. A memorable and very comfortable stay.
